Pereira was hired by Lee County on June 9, 2001.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Prior Story by the Lehigh Acres Gazette <a href=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2022\/01\/dr-carolina-c-pereira-lee-county-medical-director-stated-to-her-past-employer-said-she-was-scared-to-do-her-job\/\">Dr. Carolina C. Pereira Lee County Medical Director stated to her past employer said she was \u201cscared to do her job\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Employee Performance Evaluation April 11, 2002, OVERALL RATING: *Meets Expectations BUT<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was placed on <strong>Admin Leave with Pay effective 2\/24\/2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When Administrative Leave \u2010 Without Pay 3\/18\/2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Was told to resign or she would be fired on 4\/3\/2023 her paperwork shows TERM \u2010 Resigned \ufd3eRESIGN\ufd3f<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong>County fuses to comment on the issue with Dr. Carolina C. Pereira but we know the goes the whole way to Lee Health Systems and their emergency rooms and the attitude she had with staff and doctors.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Currently, Dr. Carolina C. Pereira is the EMS Medical Director for Fort Myers Beach Fire and Lehigh Acres Fire Dept.\u2019s<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>In Pereira\u2019s separation agreement with Lee County, she never can be rehired in any fashion or do business with Lee County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lehigh Acres Gazette sent two questions to Lee County &#8212;-<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since this doctor has left Lee County and cannot have a relationship with Lee County (per the final agreement) in any way shape or form how can she be the medical director for these other two independent districts?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These two districts must follow the same patient protocols set up by Lee County so how can she teach those protocols or if something changes in those protocols how does she know when she cannot have a relationship with Lee County?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the answer we received &#8212;- \u201cLee County Government is aware of where Dr. Pereira works and she is not in violation of the separation agreement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lee County must not understand the separation agreement, how can she do her job with the other fire districts? If she cannot have a relationship with Lee County?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why did she resign?
