FGUA announces the winners of its Lehigh Acres Rain Barrel Painting Contest <\/p>\n\n\n\n

FGUA is excited to announce the winners of this year\u2019s Lehigh Acres Rain Barrel Painting Contest. This year\u2019s theme was \u201cOur Community, Our Seniors, Our Water,\u201d and participants definitely didn\u2019t disappoint bringing this theme to life.<\/p>\n\n\n

Our first place winner is Silvia Carletti who painted a beautiful barrel titled Island Life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second place went to Faramarta De Le Cruz and third place went to Kim Wallin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winners were announced on June 5th, \u201cWorld Environment Day,\u201d at a luncheon at the Majestic Golf Club. Now that the cash prizes have been awarded, the rain barrels are now available for purchase through an online auction. Monies raised from the auction, along with sponsorships, will go toward helping those seniors in the community who struggle to pay their water bills each month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn this contest, everyone is a winner,\u201d said Donna Lizotte, Community Service Representative for FGUA.  \u201cThe seniors who paint the rain barrels participate in art therapy. The people that bid on and win the rain barrels get a beautiful piece of art that will allow them to conserve water and save money. And the seniors that are having difficulty paying their water bills each month get some much-needed help.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
