{"id":57522,"date":"2023-03-14T08:15:46","date_gmt":"2023-03-14T12:15:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?p=57522"},"modified":"2023-03-14T08:15:54","modified_gmt":"2023-03-14T12:15:54","slug":"did-you-know-156","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2023\/03\/did-you-know-156\/","title":{"rendered":"Did you Know"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By Paul Waldmiller<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Did you know that the U.S Drug Enforcement Administration released its annual National Drug Threat Assessment which shows multiple Mexican drug cartels operating in Florida?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"391\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/60739696a451820019b3a78a-1.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-57523\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Several years ago, federal prosecutors in Miami-Dade County charged the leader of a Mexican drug cartel along with five others for alleged importing over 500 kilograms of methamphetamine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a 2020 report from the DEA, Mexican drug cartels have continued expanding their drug operations by partnering with American gangs including here in our state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here in Florida, the DEA map shows that three Mexican drug cartels operate most of the drug trafficking. Those three are the Cartel de Sinola\/Sinola Cartel, Cartle Jalisco Nueva Generacion\/Jalisco New Generation Cartel, and the Organizacion de Beltran-Leyva\/Beltran -Leyva Organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of the drug cartel \u201cemployees\u2019 are those Mexicans who entered the United States illegally.
