The&nbsp;boy\u2019s mom, Veronica Rodriguez, said that the&nbsp;men asked her son if he smoked weed. She said her son told them no and his next instinct was to take a picture of the two men because he found them suspicious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 12-year-old boy got up to go back to his family and that\u2019s when, according to his mom, the men grabbed his chain from his neck and took it.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"263\" height=\"274\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Screenshot-2-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-57520\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Little do the suspects on the run know that the necklace they took holds sentimental value. The chain holds a picture of the boy and his late father, who passed away two years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cHe called me crying saying they stole my chain and I was like, \u201cwhat do you mean they stole your chain?,\u201d\u201d questioned Rodriguez when her son called her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her son had gone to the park with other family members but had gone to sit on a bench by himself for a break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rodriguez is now weary about taking her kids&nbsp;to the park.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two suspects are on the loose after stealing a 12-year-old boy\u2019s gold chain necklace.
