Riding these on canal right of ways, roadways is illegal, and can be dangerous. Environmentally sensitive areas are being destroyed by the use of ATV\u2019s \u2013 completely removing and killing natural vegetation with constant use of ATV\u2019s making trails, etc. Our joint efforts are aimed not only stopping illegal activity, but also in the preservation of our natural resources and protecting the safety of our residents.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"276\" height=\"182\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/download-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-57183\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Although foot traffic is allowed, LA-MSID staff has noticed an increase in ATV (all-terrain vehicle or off-road vehicle) use, illegal dumping, partying, destruction of natural areas, and littering on District property.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/download-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-57184\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Penalties range from warnings and fines to confiscation of property, formal charges and jail time. For more information, review the Florida Statutes or contact your local Sheriff\u2019s. Unauthorized Areas: Use of ATV\/Off-Road Vehicles, etc. on all canal right-of-ways, roadways, public lands unless otherwise stated, and unauthorized use on private lands is prohibited. Watercrafts with combustible motors are prohibited in LA-MSID canals and lakes. Public lands are areas owned by federal\/state agency or any political subdivision of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Violation of Florida Statutes will result in penalties.
