Did you know that the Florida House will consider a new bill allowing only concealed and permitless carry of weapons?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2022, Governor DeSantis made an announcement that he would sign a Constitutional Carry bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On January 30th<\/sup>, Paul Renner, the Florida House Speaker announced legislation that would allow Floridians to carry concealed weapons without a license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In twenty-five states outside of Florida that already have Constitutional Carry in place and as law, all allow open carry, meaning citizens and residents of those states are allowed to carry their weapons openly and in view of others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current bill being proposed here in Florida denies the right of Floridians to open carry their weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Florida Representative (R)Anthony Sabatini who sent out a mailer to those who support open carry of weapons, \u201cThe recently introduced \u2018constitutional carry\u2019 bill is a huge loss for conservatives because it fails to go far enough. It still prohibits open carry, which means that those of us who wish to exercise our right to bear arms are still not allowed to do so freely.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a press conference held by Paul Renner announcing the proposed bill, he shared that the Florida House will consider the proposal (HB 543) during the legislative session that will begin on March 7th<\/sup>. Under the bill a person would need to carry a valid identification at all times when she or he is in actual possession of a concealed weapon or firearm and must show that identification when demanded from a law enforcement officer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
