After shooting her husband, she apparently backed out of her commitment to kill herself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari E. Young who held a news conference regarding the shooting, \u201cBecause he (Jerry Gilland) was terminally ill, they had a conversation about it and they actually planned this approximately three weeks ago, that if he continued to take a turn for the worse, that he wanted her to end this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When officers arrived at the hospital, they immediately evacuated staff and patients around the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the time of this article being written, Daytona Beach Police continue to investigate the incident.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Paul Waldmiller Did you know that a woman recently killed her terminally ill husband?
