The one-large stripe represents the blood Jesus shed on the cross for the remission of our sins. There are some candymakers who decided to add a green colored stripe. Some say that green color is a reminder that Jesus is an everlasting gift from God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lastly, the flavor of the original candy cane is peppermint, which is similar to hyssop.
