Whatever we can do to protect our kids, mine is very important to me,\u201d Fisher responded.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But arming teachers was something the previous board rejected and may need to be convinced to go along with.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/images.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-56201\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>\u201cI personally am not comfortable with teachers being armed. What does that look like?\u201d said Debbie Jordan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jordan recently won re-election and is calling for the sheriff\u2019s office and other law enforcement to weigh in on the matter before she makes a decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI absolutely want to hear from our police in our service department on what they deem necessary to do the job,\u201d Jordan said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Newly elected board member Jada Langford-Fleming did not return calls in an attempt to find out where she stands on the issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the things that the new school board members won\u2019t have to deal with is hiring a new superintendent. That\u2019s because Lee County voters gave thumbs up to electing the next superintendent.
