Here&#8217;s what to know.\u00a0(Food and Drug Administration)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The recall is in effect as a small percentage of bottles (less than 1 percent) have bottle caps that may not have been sealed properly, which could result in gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting due to spoiled formula, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said in a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/safety\/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts\/abbott-voluntarily-recalls-certain-lots-2-fl-oz59-ml-bottles-ready-feed-liquid-products-recall-not\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a>&nbsp;Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Affected products were manufactured in Abbott\u2019s Columbus, Ohio facility and include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Similac\u00ae Pro-Total ComfortTM<\/li><li>Similac\u00ae 360 Total Care\u00ae<\/li><li>Similac 360 Total Care Sensitive<\/li><li>Similac\u00ae Special Care\u00ae 24<\/li><li>Similac Stage 1<\/li><li>Similac\u00ae NeoSure\u00ae<\/li><li>Similac Water (Sterilized)<\/li><li>Pedialyte Electrolyte Solution<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The recall does not include other liquid or powder formula brands, amino acid-based formulas, metabolic nutrition formulas or powder formula brands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The entire recall amounts to less than a day\u2019s worth of the total number of infant formula fed in the U.S. and isn\u2019t expected to impact the nationwide infant formula supply, the FDA said. The manufacturer is currently continuing production of its Similac 2 fluid ounce\/59 milliliter Ready-to-Feed liquid formula products for hospitals and healthcare offices on a different production line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bottom of Form<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We take our responsibility to deliver high-quality products very seriously,&#8221; said Joe Manning, Abbott\u2019s executive vice president of nutritional products. &#8220;We internally identified the issue, are addressing it, and will work with our customers to minimize inconvenience and get them the products they need.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.similacrecall.com\/us\/en\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Click here<\/a>&nbsp;to see a list of impacted lot numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The products included in the recall were sent mostly to hospitals and doctors\u2019 offices in the U.S., as well as Barbados, Bermuda, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Croix, St. Thomas, Canada, Curacao, Panama, and Trinidad and Tobago.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Baby formula manufacturer Abbott is recalling several types of its liquid bottle products sold in the U.S., including in Florida, according to federal officials.
