Ron DeSantis on Thursday announced a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sunpass.com\/en\/home\/index.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SunPass<\/a>&nbsp;program that he said will benefit Florida drivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"668\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/6307c86b04cc1.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-54603\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>What You Need To Know<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;SunPass Savings Program&#8221; announced Thursday<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regular toll road users (40+ times per month) could see credits to their accounts<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BELOW: List of roads\/tolls that qualify<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sunpass.com\/en\/common\/docs\/SunPass_Savings_Alert.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&#8220;Sunpass Savings Program&#8221;<\/a>&nbsp;will apply to Florida Department of Transportation-maintained toll roads, including I-4 Express lanes in Orange and Seminole counties, along with the Florida Turnpike.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drivers who use those toll roads 40 times in a month will see a 20% credit to their account the next month. Eighty toll road usages will result in a 25% credit, DeSantis said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program will start Sept. 1 and will be in effect for six months, until the next legislative session, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will not apply to the Central Florida Expressway and Miami-Dade Expressway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DeSantis, speaking at Florida&#8217;s Turnpike Headquarters, said the program could benefit about 400,000 drivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This is small but an important savings,&#8221; he said, adding that it would provide at least some breathing room for residents amid inflation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
