The Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors extremist ideology, investigates groups and individuals that promote fascism and the creation of a white ethnostate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A White ethnostate<\/strong> is a proposed type of state<\/a> in which residence or citizenship would be limited to white people<\/a>, and would exclude non-whites, such as black people<\/a>, Asian people<\/a>, Jews<\/a>, and Native American<\/a> people. In the United States<\/a>, proposals for such a state are advanced by White supremacist<\/a> and White separatist<\/a> factions such as Ku Klux Klansmen<\/a> and Neo-Nazis<\/a> whether through claiming a certain part or the whole of the country to have a white majority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are they investigating Lee County Commissioner Cecil Pendergrass? The Southern Poverty Law Center will not say Yes or No at this time, we wonder why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center, the list of the Neo-Confederate groups is Abbeville Institute<\/a>, Council of Conservative Citizens<\/a>, Flaggers (Confederate flag erectors)<\/a>, Ku Klux Klan<\/a> (1st and 3rd incarnations), League of the South<\/a>, Sons of Confederate Veterans<\/a>, Southern Party<\/a> (defunct) and United Daughters of the Confederacy<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Neo-Confederate group Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) has members who are serving military officers, elected officials, public employees, and a particular national security expert with \u201cDepartment of Defense Secret Security Clearance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Records show that Lee County Commissioner Cecil Pendergrass received campaign donations from the Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) in 2017 and 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is Lee County Commissioner Cecil Pendergrass a member of a Neo-Confederate or member of a hate group? Why would he take money from a known group? Why didn\u2019t he just return the donation?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SCV is a Neo-Confederacy also incorporates advocacy of traditional gender roles, is hostile toward democracy, strongly opposes homosexuality, and exhibits an understanding of race that favors segregation and suggests white supremacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
