Ron DeSantis, meanwhile, issuing an executive order stating he will fill the seat in the interim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lee County Supervisor of Elections Tommy Doyle, in accordance with state statutes, has called a Special Election to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Commissioner Frank Mann this week as well as set the date for a Special Primary Election for selecting nominees of&nbsp;\u201cthe recognized political parties for such Election,\u201d&nbsp;according to a release from the Elections Office issued today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The date for the Special Primary Election is Tuesday, Aug. 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The date for the Special Election is Tuesday, Nov. 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cUnder the direction of the state, Doyle has set the qualifying period from noon, Monday, June 27, through 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates seeking to qualify by the petition method may submit petitions to the Supervisor of Elections, no later than 5 p.m., Saturday, June 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information pertaining to qualifying, visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lee.vote\/\">lee.vote<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dates have been set for the Special Election to fill the vacancy for the District 5 seat on the Lee County Board of County Commissioners with Gov.
