She says over the decades, friends\u00a0and family have hopped on their ATVs, trucks, and side by side to gather\u00a0together in the Greenbriar woods in Lehigh Acres for decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBy\u00a0evening, 9-10\u00a0o\u2019clock, there are 200-300 people out here,\u201d said Armfield.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While riding out to the area earlier this week, Armfield and her friends noticed a sign they\u2019d never seen before on the trail. It read\u2013\u201cNails Ahead, Keep Out.\u201d She said the entire trail was covered in long roofing nails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m talking hundreds of nails,\u201d she said.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"226\" height=\"194\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/nail2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-53610\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>After the discovery of the nails, community members were out early clearing the trails of the hazardous nails. With so many people bringing their pets and kids to the trails, especially&nbsp;on the weekends, Julie and the others thought it was imperative to everyone\u2019s safety to get the nails cleaned up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI know that people are upset about it and they want to help as much as they can to get them up,\u201d Armfield said. \u201cIf it floods out here and we get a sheet of water, the nails are gonna travel.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"607\" height=\"251\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/nails-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-53611\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/nails-3.png 607w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/nails-3-300x124.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 607px) 100vw, 607px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>While rumors are swirling, nobody is really sure who put the nails there or where they came from.
