{"id":51618,"date":"2021-12-10T17:43:45","date_gmt":"2021-12-10T22:43:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?p=51618"},"modified":"2021-12-10T17:43:51","modified_gmt":"2021-12-10T22:43:51","slug":"lehigh-acres-man-was-arrested-in-connection-to-a-2020-home-invasion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2021\/12\/lehigh-acres-man-was-arrested-in-connection-to-a-2020-home-invasion\/","title":{"rendered":"Lehigh Acres man was arrested in connection to a 2020 home invasion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A Lehigh Acres man was arrested Thursday in connection to a 2020 home invasion in Golden Gate Estates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Andres Tremols-Tapanes, 34, of Lehigh Acres is facing charges after detectives said DNA evidence linked him to the crime over a year later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Screenshot-5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-51619\" width=\"-3\" height=\"-3\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Screenshot-5.png 276w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Screenshot-5-260x300.png 260w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 276px) 100vw, 276px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>On November 21, 2020,&nbsp;Tremols-Tapanes and an accomplice broke into a home on 11th Avenue SW wearing masks and dark clothing, deputies said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The men allegedly pointed a gun at two people inside the home, beat them, and bound them before taking off with cash from a safe in the home and driving off in the victim\u2019s car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investigators found a black glove at the scene and were able to pull DNA from it that linked&nbsp;Tremols-Tapanes to the crime, according to CCSO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>US Marshals picked up the 34-year-old in Lee County and took him to the Lee County Jail where he will eventually be transferred to the Collier County Jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Detectives are still working to identify the second suspect.
