About 70 volunteers are working to give people a free, full Thanksgiving Meal on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volunteers with the Rotary Club of Lehigh Acres said food was tougher to come by this year because of supply issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They met their goal, and are working to cook the food, and set up the tables. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have never turned away anyone without a meal, and we don\u2019t intend to start this year,\u201d volunteer Edward Buff said. \u201cWe need to be doing things for our community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buff said finding volunteers was easy. They\u2019re the reason they can host hundreds of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s helping people,\u201d Cal Brown said. \u201cThat\u2019s what I\u2019ve done, and that\u2019s what I like to do. I like to volunteer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volunteers are cooking turkeys, stuffing, and other traditional foods for the holiday. They have hams on standby in case they run out of turkey. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, this event was drive-thru only because of COVID-19. They said so many people showed up to donate; they used money from last year to help buy turkeys for this Thanksgiving. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the 15th year the Rotary Club has given out free meals on Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can go to St. Raphael\u2019s Catholic Church at 2514 Lee BLVD from 11am until 2pm Thursday. You can eat inside, or take the meal to go<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
