The Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres is holding a golf tournament this weekend to raise money to feed families in need this Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

David Butler, a member of the Kiwanis Club, said this is the first time they are holding the Kiwanis Turkey Frolic Scramble. He said they have a goal of purchasing turkeys for 400 students, ideally 2,000 Lehigh families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to serve the Thanksgiving meal, they are also working with the Key Club, which is collecting canned goods for the meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Butler said they have provided turkey dinners to families in the past. This year, he said, they have decided to do it as a fundraiser, as they have more students they are trying to help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are working with counselors inside the school system,\u201d Butler explained, adding that they are able to assist in choosing students and families that are in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scramble will be held Saturday, Nov. 20, check-in at 7 a.m., followed by the scramble at 8 a.m., at Majestic Golf Club, 350 Homestead Road, S. It is either $75 per player, or $260 for a team of four golfers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The registration fee includes range use, breakfast, snack and lunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith each of those players, $75 sponsors two turkey dinners in return,\u201d Butler said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
