The child was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A press release from the Florida Highway Patrol said the child has critical injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending, troopers said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The driver, a 35-year-old Lehigh Acres man, suffered minor injuries. He was also not wearing a seatbelt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"528\" height=\"359\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/un.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-50777\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/un.png 528w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/un-300x204.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 528px) 100vw, 528px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>FHP said the driver of a pickup truck was backing up at a high rate of speed and ran off the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The child was not wearing a seatbelt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The child was pinned under the vehicle, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
