{"id":50475,"date":"2021-09-12T23:42:02","date_gmt":"2021-09-13T03:42:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?p=50475"},"modified":"2021-09-12T23:42:12","modified_gmt":"2021-09-13T03:42:12","slug":"red-cross-helps-3-people-affected-by-a-home-fire-in-lehigh-acres","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2021\/09\/red-cross-helps-3-people-affected-by-a-home-fire-in-lehigh-acres\/","title":{"rendered":"Red Cross Helps 3 People Affected by a Home Fire in Lehigh Acres"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Tonight,\u00a0local American Red Cross volunteer members of the Disaster\u00a0Action\u00a0Team, from the\u00a0Florida Gulf Coast to Heartland\u00a0Chapter, responded to a\u00a0home\u00a0fire\u00a0on\u00a0Idaho Rd.\u00a0in\u00a0Lehigh Acres, Fla.\u00a0The disaster-trained team helped coordinate emergency aid to\u00a0three (3) people\u00a0impacted by the blaze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Red Cross is providing emergency financial assistance, health, and mental health services, one-on-one support\u00a0to connect people to available recovery assistance, and will continue to provide additional support\u00a0to the\u00a0families\u00a0to meet their disaster-caused needs.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Disaster Action Team is a group of local, specially trained, Red Cross volunteer responders, who\u202fare ready to take action at these emergencies, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Disaster Action Team volunteers also provide emotional support and information to help families begin the process of recovery.\u202fRed Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by donations to the Red Cross.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Red Cross&nbsp;volunteers have been trained to follow proper safety procedures and protocols to continue serving communities impacted by local disasters, during the coronavirus outbreak.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Families in our community, across the country, and around the world turn to the Red Cross every day for help because of #EmergenciesDontStop. Hospital patients still need lifesaving blood; neighbors still need food, shelter, and care after disasters; and military families still need support.
