But refuses to look into the largest Ecological Nightmare happening in Lakeland Florida, WHY?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With $100 million taxpayer dollars to permanently clean up and close\u00a0Piney Point. FDEP refuses to do anything in Lakeland, WHY?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/safe_image.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-50102\" width=\"-173\" height=\"-90\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/safe_image.jpg 500w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/safe_image-300x157.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\"><strong>BS Ranch &amp; Farm, Inc. and their property butt up to Saddle Creek ecologically sensitive land owned by SWFWMD and Florida Audubon Society Inc. that runs into Lake Hancock and then discharges into the Peace River than runs into the Charlotte County estuary system out to the Gulf of Mexico.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By the import monthly tonnage schedule in the permit, it makes this the largest facility of its kind in Florida. That\u2019s 1.08 million tons or 999,000 80,000 lbs. semi truckloads a year of feedstocks include wood (yard waste), pre-consumer and post-consumer vegetative waste, animal manure, and animal by-products, food scraps, wastewater treatment facility effluent, septage, biosolids, and organic sludges. The treatment process produces mulch, compost, fertilizer, and soil amendments. The approximate daily average weights of feed material and products are 3,870 tons and 1,088 tons, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/0925_bn9_bsranchfarmlakelandjpg.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-50100\" width=\"579\" height=\"325\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/0925_bn9_bsranchfarmlakelandjpg.jpg 970w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/0925_bn9_bsranchfarmlakelandjpg-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/0925_bn9_bsranchfarmlakelandjpg-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 579px) 100vw, 579px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This means the likelihood of an ecological nightmare at the same time for Saddle Creek and Lake Hancock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BS Ranch &amp; Farm\u00a0is NOT allowed to discharge any odor or material outside of their grounds but by aerial photography (google earth)\u2014 photos seem to disagree with BS Ranch &amp; Farm&#8217;s assessment of breaks in the berms going outside the permitted area heading towards Saddle Creek and Lake Hancock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year BS Ranch and Farm called the breach an act of God their berm broke. Now photos show that someone has made a NEW discharge point, without permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/142939206_2124676601001602_6286780702491753801_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-50101\" width=\"414\" height=\"311\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/142939206_2124676601001602_6286780702491753801_n.jpg 526w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/142939206_2124676601001602_6286780702491753801_n-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 414px) 100vw, 414px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Bill and Brandy Stanton&nbsp;have threatened the Lakeland Gazette with a lawsuit for posting the truth about BS Ranch and Farm in the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s get the facts straight \u2014- The facility reprocesses human (shit) waste, mulch, and out-of-date food products into organic agricultural products. RIGHT?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organic agricultural products?? \u2014- it\u2019s really not organic \u2014 it\u2019s a biosolid which should never be used in planted crops for humans to eat. But we know that Bill and Brandy Stanton&nbsp;sold this biosolid concoction to strawberry farmers in and around Plant City. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several residents of the Dawn Heights community, less than a half-mile from the business, say the stench continues to disrupt their quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On July 14, 2021, A Polk County Code Enforcement Special Magistrate has entered an order from the December 19, 2019 Code Enforcement hearings finding BS Ranch and Farm in violation of Polk County Land Development Code for off-site odors. As part of the order, the Special Magistrate imposed a fine of $11,000 per day for each of eight days on which off-site odor violations were substantiated to be emanating from their property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This $88,000 fine does not deflect the responsible of the FDEP and the lack of enforcement by them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FDEP continues to carefully monitor weather and site conditions at the Piney Point facility.
