No samples have yet been positive for the bacteria Burkholderia pseudomallei, which causes melioidosis,\u201d the CDC said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CDC believes an imported product or ingredient \u201csuch as a food or drink, personal care or cleaning products or medicine\u201d is likely cause of the illness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Health officials are being advised to watch out for \u201cacute bacterial infections\u201d that don\u2019t respond to antibiotics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPeople experiencing cough, chest pain, high fever, headache or unexplained weight loss should see their doctor,\u201d the CDC recommended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Major risk factors for melioidosis are diabetes, liver or kidney disease, chronic lung disease, cancer or another condition that weakens the immune system.
