Even if you\u2019ve been vaccinated against COVID-19, the CDC recommends you wear a mask in public indoor settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In new guidance for local leaders, the CDC is calling on all teachers, staff, students and visitors to wear a mask on campus, regardless of vaccination status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/kids-masks_wide-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-49817\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/kids-masks_wide-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/kids-masks_wide-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/kids-masks_wide-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/kids-masks_wide.jpg 1400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The CDC is also calling on community leaders to encourage people to get vaccinated in order to stop the current surge in COVID-19 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For much of the pandemic, the CDC advised Americans to wear masks outdoors if they were within 6 feet of one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When vaccination rates went up in April, the agency eased its guidelines on the wearing of masks outdoors, allowing fully vaccinated Americans to ditch face masks unless they were in a big crowd of strangers. In May, the CDC further eased its guidance for fully vaccinated people, allowing them to stop wearing masks outdoors in crowds and in most indoor settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mask guidance still calls for people to wear masks in crowded indoor settings, like buses, planes, hospitals, prisons, and homeless shelters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In an expected reversal, the CDC is now urging even vaccinated people to wear masks in some settings.
