William Street in Punta Gorda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The defendant had been driving the wrong way, going southbound in the northbound lane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He crashed into a car driven by a nurse, who suffered serious injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Punta Gorda Police Department handled the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A blood draw was taken from the defendant and a toxicology report indicated there were four different controlled substances in his system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was then arrested and charged for the crash.
