{"id":49759,"date":"2021-07-21T14:58:37","date_gmt":"2021-07-21T18:58:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?p=49759"},"modified":"2021-07-21T14:58:42","modified_gmt":"2021-07-21T18:58:42","slug":"florida-governmental-utility-authority-issues-a-precautionary-boil-water-notification-for-lehigh-acres-system-customers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2021\/07\/florida-governmental-utility-authority-issues-a-precautionary-boil-water-notification-for-lehigh-acres-system-customers\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida Governmental Utility Authority Issues a Precautionary Boil Water Notification for Lehigh Acres System Customers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) has issued a Precautionary Boil Water Notice Advisory due to an 8-inch water main break at Joel Blvd. and 11<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0St., East as of\u00a0<strong>Wednesday, (July 21st) at 1:00 PM.<\/strong>\u00a0 The advisory will affect customers residing on the East and West side of Joel Blvd., North of 7<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0St., E, including Beach Club Colony.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"842\" height=\"341\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/boil-water-notice.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26835\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/boil-water-notice.png 842w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/boil-water-notice-300x121.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 842px) 100vw, 842px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Repair crews are on-site, and services are expected to be restored by 5:00 PM.\u00a0 Samples of the water will be taken to a Florida Department of Health-certified laboratory and a notice of recession will be issued once samples show the water is safe to drink. A rescind of the notice is anticipated by\u00a0<strong>Saturday, July 24<sup>th<\/sup>, 2021.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FGUA provides a Boil Water Notice Advisory under Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) requirements in the event that water pressure drops below 20 pounds per square inch in the service area.&nbsp; In the meantime, the FGUA advises that all water used for drinking or cooked be boiled. A rolling boil for a period of one minute is sufficient to ensure the water is free of possible bacteria or viruses.
