He will be replacing long-time superintendent Dr. Greg Adkins who has worked with the district for 31 years, according to the district\u2019s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adkins\u2019 retirement is scheduled for June 30 after he made the announcement he would be stepping down April 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Savage has worked as the chief operations officer of the School District of Lee County since 2019 and previously worked with the district from 2006 to 2018 in various principal roles, according to his CLR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He will be paid an annual salary of $209,000, the school board reports.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The School District of Lee County has approved a new interim superintendent Monday as the retirement date of Dr. Gregory Adkins approaches.
