<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nA Lee County Sheriff’s Office alert said Elena Barrabi was last seen Friday. However, family members said she was actually staying in an area treatment center until her release on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I\u2019m asking all of my mom\u2019s friends if they\u2019ve had any contact with her or know her whereabouts, to please contact me,” said Daniella Paez, Barrabi’s daughter, who lives in Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“She has been missing since Sunday. She left a facility on Sunday and was given a bus ticket and has not returned home. She does not have her cell phone or wallet. Please let me know if you\u2019ve seen or spoken to her.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Barrabi was last seen wearing jeans and a beige and white T-shirt. The Sheriff’s Office description said she has brown hair and brown eyes, is 5\u20194\u201d and weighs 180 pounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Paez said several sightings of her mother, a former CNA\/home health aide, have been reported, notably outside the Walmart on Colonial Boulevard. She said deputies were dispatched to the store but could not spot the woman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I hope my mom is found safe and out of harm\u2019s way,” Paez said. “She\u2019s truly one of the sweetest people you\u2019d ever meet, has a gift for gab, and would give you the clothes off her back.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Paez said there has been a large amount of stress for her mom over the past few months concerning the health of a close family member that deeply affected her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I have no words about this complex situation and the heartache I\u2019m feeling,” Paez said. “I just know I\u2019m awake and it\u2019s hard to sleep. I know that the tears keep on falling. And they\u2019ll keep falling until she is found.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said her mother was originally thought to be set for release from where she was being treated on Monday but was let out Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“She never had her phone given the situation or her purse or anything,” Paez said. She added that her mother was provided a bus ticket and allowed to leave the center where she was staying but family members were not told of the earlier release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She also said the Sheriff’s Office told her that detectives were going to try to get surveillance camera footage today and more information on her mother’s release and current whereabouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
