And so it begins!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hurricane Team is tracking the first area of interest in the Atlantic Basin for the 2021 Hurricane Season, less than two weeks before the official start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The area to watch is a non-tropical area of low pressure currently northeast of Bermuda, and only has a 20% chance for development over the next five days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is currently over 1000 mile away for the US heading east. If it does manage to develop into an area to watch, it will be a subtropical system, and remain out to sea. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If it strengthens enough into a Subtropical Storm, the first name on the list is Ana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This season, hurricanes will be named the following: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  3. Claudette<\/li>
  4. Danny<\/li>
  5. Elsa<\/li>
  6. Fred<\/li>
  7. Grace<\/li>
  8. Henri<\/li>

  11. Kate<\/li>
  12. Larry<\/li>
  13. Mindy<\/li>
  14. Nicholas<\/li>
  15. Odette<\/li>
  16. Peter<\/li>
  17. Rose<\/li>
  18. Sam<\/li>
  19. Teresa<\/li>
  20. Victor<\/li>
