The suspects, who have been identified as Jacob Sobolewski and Roderick Mitchell, were leaving the scene of one crime when they collided with another car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two suspects and a driver of the second vehicle were transported to the hospital. The driver of the second vehicle is in serious condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The people who drive that stretch of 23rd Street say speeding is a regular thing. On Thursday morning, the roadway was also blanketed by heavy fog, but the Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office would not say if fog was a factor in the crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe heard the crash. He heard the crash, but he wasn\u2019t sure where it was because it was foggy,\u201d said Laura Golil, who has lived near the crash site for 10 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A sheriff\u2019s office spokesman minced no words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe people involved in this crash, the suspects involved, as well as the victim, they are all in the hospital. However the victim has serious injuries, we had to even use the jaws of life to get them out of that car,\u201d said LCSO spokesman Nestor Montoya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI can\u2019t believe somebody would steal cars I mean come on. Everybody knows they have GPS and stuff now, it\u2019s ridiculous you\u2019re not going to get away with it,\u201d Lolil said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Golil said she believes fog contributed to the crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not worth it and they\u2019re careless with people\u2019s lives, and that should be higher sentencing for that,\u201d Golil said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sobolewski faces 25 different charges, Mitchell 27, with both facing 16 for burglary and eight for larceny.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
