Ron DeSantis suspends all local pandemic emergency orders"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is continuing to push back against the ideas of lockdowns and restrictions during the pandemic with the signing of a new COVID bill. He also took immediate action to suspend local emergency orders that were put in place earlier in the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/ron-desantis-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-42765\" width=\"335\" height=\"223\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/ron-desantis-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/ron-desantis-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/ron-desantis-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/ron-desantis.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 335px) 100vw, 335px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe need a new construct for these emergency powers that have been used throughout the country,&#8221; the governor said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He says, since the beginning of the pandemic, Florida has worked to lift people up, get them back to work, and keep a healthy economy and society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe wanted people to be happy living in Florida,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The legislation signed Monday has DeSantis&#8217; &#8220;full support&#8221; and helps provide safeguards and protections for families, businesses and workers, according to the governor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the bill, a default legal presumption is provided during any emergency that businesses should be free from government mandates to close, and schools should remain open for in-person instruction for children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to signing the bill, the governor signed an executive order that invalidates local emergency orders related to COVID-19, taking effect on July.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To &#8220;bridge the gap&#8221; DeSantis also suspended local emergency orders, that are currently in place, through his executive power.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Florida Gov.
