{"id":48448,"date":"2021-04-26T21:26:22","date_gmt":"2021-04-27T01:26:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?p=48448"},"modified":"2021-04-26T21:26:42","modified_gmt":"2021-04-27T01:26:42","slug":"man-sentenced-to-30-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2021\/04\/man-sentenced-to-30-years\/","title":{"rendered":"Man sentenced to 30 years"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The State Attorney\u2019s office announced that they\u2019ve sentenced a man to 30 years in prison following a stabbing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Sw-photo.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-48449\" width=\"288\" height=\"370\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Sw-photo.png 372w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Sw-photo-233x300.png 233w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 288px) 100vw, 288px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>29-year-old Michael Swisher has been charged with one count of each second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, and resisting an officer without violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just over three years ago, in mid-April of 2018, Swisher was staying with a couple in their Lehigh Acres home. After leaving the doors open and letting the couple\u2019s dogs out, Swisher was confronted by both the man and woman homeowners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the confrontation, Swisher stabbed both the man and women, the man survived, the woman did not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the stabbings, Swisher left the scene and jumped into a canal. The Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office was called and used deputies on the ground and helicopter with heat-seeking technology to locate Swisher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was eventually found in the woods just blocks from the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Swisher was also sentenced to five years for possession of cocaine and five years for possession of marijuana over 20 grams.
