\u201cMy dream for The Spring Fest of Southwest Florida is to offer an opportunity for our community to come together united in joy and happiness to simply indulge in a day of great food, great music, great fashion, great poetry and great people and to just enjoy the talent in our area and celebrate our diverse backgrounds, while supporting local small businesses,\u201d<\/em> said George Torres, founder and owner of Blended Cultures, LLC, and organizer of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The event will follow safety protocols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt is a COVID-conscious event,\u201d<\/em> Torres said, adding they will have individualized packaged disposable masks. \u201cI do encourage people to wear masks. We will have several tables with hand sanitizer.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n He organized Flava of Lehigh Acres in December and said it was a great success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt was very successful for vendors and the community. Everybody had a great time. Vendors made great money and they connected with new clients,\u201d<\/em> he said, adding that the idea for this event sprang from the earlier one. \u201cI definitely plan on doing more.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Spring Fest will feature face painting, food and nonfood vendors, bounce houses, live performances, DJ and a fashion show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt\u2019s going to be a great time,\u201d<\/em> Torres said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The live performances will include a Spanish drummer, a young man singing Creole, hip hop singers and rappers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAll the music is family-friendly. All the music is the edited version, no profanity,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Those who attend are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and umbrellas, relax and stay awhile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCome out and support your local vendors. Mother\u2019s Day is around the corner. Before you visit all the big stores, come visit local vendors who are family, friends, brothers, uncles, \u201c<\/em> Torres said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Vendors will offer an array of things, including apparel, kitchenware, jewelry, desserts, barbecue and Mexican food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThere are all different types of vendors,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Blended Cultures is a marketing and promotions company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOnce we do all the marketing and promotions for people, then we put the event together and invite them all to the event,\u201d<\/em> Torres said, adding that all the local entrepreneurs gather in one centralized place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Spring Fest sponsors include MGS Designz, The Empowerment Movement FL and RA-HA Entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Monica Garcia, owner of MGS Designz, invited the public to come out and support local artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBlended Cultures is excited to experience The Spring Fest of Southwest Florida with the community; we have an amazing lineup of creative talent in music, poetry and artists sharing their gifts in entertainment as well as some fabulous local small businesses coming out to offer their food, products and services. This is a great opportunity for the whole family to come out and enjoy a day filled with food, food and the creation of great new memories. We hope to see you there,\u201d<\/em> Garcia said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Indoor bathrooms are onsite and there is ample parking for attendees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hand sanitizer stations will be at every vendor booth for use before and after all transactions. Masks are greatly encouraged. Security will be on site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
