We have come to the conclusion that Spencer Roach must resign. We state this because Mr. Roach has lied to the people he is supposed to represent. Instead of Rep. Roach advocating for the People of his state seat, he has been on a mission to fulfill his own thirst for personal power at great cost to families across Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When first elected, Rep. Roach submitted a bill to the Florida Legislature to weaken parental rights. He got a bill passed that shortened the length of time to only one-year for parents who had lost their children to the over-zealous and very powerful Florida Department of Children and Families to come into \u201ccompliance.\u201d Roach is a member of the BAR Association which controls DCS and so called \u201cFamily Law.\u201d He knows that shortening the time parents have to \u201ccome into compliance\u201d gives our State and the Family Law section of the Bar Association (a $100 Billion dollar per year industry!) more opportunity to grab federally-funded tax funds through Social Security (Federal Title money when a parent\u2019s rights are permanently terminated).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a Florida volunteer Guardian ad litem, Roach knows that the last thing the vast majority of SWFL voters want is a parent to lose their child. Up to 88% of all children that are sex and human trafficked come from the foster care system in America including right here in SWFL. Although Mr. Roach knows these things, he recently voted to force our police officers to handcuff small children if they act out inappropriately making it easier for Florida DCF to take these children from parents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is beyond appalling and downright sickening to see Mr. Roach displaying inhumane treatment–even advocating for abuse\u2014of small children by placing them in handcuffs as well as advocating the destruction of families for cash. In fact, the display by Rep. Roach advocating for what some call the \u201ckids for cash scheme\u201d is downright evil. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If these horrid acts by Representative Roach weren\u2019t bad enough, at one point, State Attorney Amira Fox had appointed Mr. Roach as a \u201cSpecial Prosecutor\u201d! We are not sure what occurred with Mr. Roach\u2019s appointment after that, but Roach accepting that appointment is a clear violation of the \u201cseparation of powers\u201d that was built into the U.S. Constitution. Mr. Roach is either a member of our Florida Legislative Branch or he is a member of our Judicial Branch; he cannot be both! That is a clear conflict of interest and also an abuse of power. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We see no value in keeping in office a person like Spencer Roach who votes in favor of the opposite of values most residents within his district believe in. Children and families deserve to be protected, not abused and sold-off like chattel by our government and courts!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because of Mr. Roach\u2019s insolent and dangerous behavior while in the office particularly as it relates to the children in his district, we demand his resignation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
