Did you know that two Florida women recently dressed as \u201cgrannies\u201d to receive COVID-19 immunizations?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Orange County Sheriff\u2019s Office, two women aged 34 and 44 were given trespassing warnings when health care workers suspected these two women were not 65 years old or older as required in the State of Florida to receive the COVID-19 immunization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Orange County Sheriff\u2019s Deputy wearing a body camera, caught and later showed Olga Monroy-Ramirez and Martha Vivian Monroy being confronted by officials at the Orange County Convention Center\u2019s drive through vaccination site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Orange County\u2019s health director Dr. Raul Pino had described during last Thursday\u2019s news briefing how these two women had dressed as \u201cgrannies\u201d to receive a second COVID-19 immunization. Dr. Pino stated that the women\u2019s disguises included gloves, glasses and bonnets. When asked by some in the media, Pino stated he was unsure how the women acquired the first dose of the vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is the hottest commodity (the COVID-19 immunization) that is out there right now. We have to be very careful with the funds and the resources that we are provided,\u201d said Pino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a reminder, Governor DeSantis has ordered prioritizing all COVID-19 vaccines for Floridians aged 65 and older as well as healthcare workers as well as some older, long-term facility residents and staff.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
