By now you have seen or heard that the Fire Commissioners have approved a new ballot measure for Aug 18 vote. This is the same thing Lehigh Acres voted against in June of 2019 when the Fire Department spent nearly $300,000 of your tax dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now Fire Chief Robert DiLallo has what to the newspaper and printed lies: First Lie \u201cThis simplified fire assessment approach works to achieve the goal of making the assessment fairer to all property owners\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He uses the words, \u201cfairer to all property owners\u201d This is NOT true every vacant property in Lehigh Acres will see a 700% increase in their taxes. Over 1000 residential homes will see an increase of 20 to 150% increase in taxes. Businesses\u2019 will see a 15 to 50% increase in taxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So where is it fair to all property owners!!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Second Lie, \u201cThis simple fee been tested and approved by Florida’s Supreme Court in other jurisdictions\u201d. The facts are its been only tested in the Circuit Courts of other jurisdictions only NOT Florida’s Supreme Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fifth station could be up and running within 60 days if the board would use one of their Mobile Homes that they used for Hurricane IRMA, But the commissioner choice to sell that asset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, when does NO mean NO to the Lehigh Acres Fire Commissioners that was voted on June 2019 and the Fireboard lost and the taxpayers lost over $300,000 that day?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
