Who is Jim Leavens: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An experienced Deputy Sheriff for 30 years in Lee County,<\/strong> retired as a Major in March of 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jim\u2019s duties over the years entailed the supervision of sworn and civilian personnel to include Commander of:  Internal Affairs, Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC), East District Substation, Major Crimes (Homicide, Crimes Against Persons, Domestic Violence, et, al. as well as the acquisition and administration of multi-million-dollar budgets and equipment related to these Divisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jim has severed as a Sergeant and Lieutenant in Road Patrol, Internal Affairs and Criminal Investigative capacities.  As a Detective he was assigned to Property Crimes, Narcotics, Robbery and Homicide Divisions.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jim has had Corrections Officer and Law Enforcement Certified Deputy Sheriff training and is certified in both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jim has received the following awards: Law Enforcement Officer of the Year from Lee County Bar Association, Law Enforcement Officer of the Year from Fort Myers Rotary Club, Deputy of the Month (4x), Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Meritorious Service Award, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Combat Cross, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Education Achievement Award, Lee County Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jim has over 100 Law Enforcement related courses under his belt and 1000\u2019s of training hours include in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Criminal Investigations, Homicide Investigations, Asset Forfeiture, Police Internal Affairs, Street Survival, Interviews and Interrogations, Crisis Intervention, Hostage Negotiations, Mid-Level Management, Line Supervision and so much more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We do not need another political crony as a sheriff, Lee County already has one of those. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leavens is what Lee County needs desperately<\/strong> a truly experienced law enforcement leader.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
