{"id":46200,"date":"2020-03-18T12:35:53","date_gmt":"2020-03-18T16:35:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?p=46200"},"modified":"2020-03-18T12:35:53","modified_gmt":"2020-03-18T16:35:53","slug":"lee-county-school-district-announces-chromebook-distribution-dates-and-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2020\/03\/lee-county-school-district-announces-chromebook-distribution-dates-and-times\/","title":{"rendered":"Lee County School District announces Chromebook distribution dates and times"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Lee County School District is preparing for online learning by distributing Chromebooks to those students in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"155\" height=\"156\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/lee-county-schools.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2172\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/lee-county-schools.jpg 155w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/lee-county-schools-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 155px) 100vw, 155px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Elementary Schools will sign out Chromebooks to students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade in need of computer access this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chromebooks will only be distributed to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who meet the following criteria:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Do not have an older sibling already issued a District Chromebook in grades 6-12<\/li><li>Do not have a computer of any type in the home<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The following schedule is for pickup of Chromebooks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grade 5<br>March 19<sup>th<\/sup><br>Last Name A-M 8am-10am<br>Last Name N-Z 10am-12pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grade 4<br>March 19<sup>th<\/sup><br>Last Name A-M 1pm-3pm<br>Last Name N-Z 3pm-5pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grade 3<br>March 20<sup>th<\/sup><br>Last Name A-M 8am-10am<br>Last Name N-Z 10am-12pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grades 3-5 For families unable to pick up Chromebooks on Thursday<br>March 20<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;1pm-5pm<br>March 21<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;9am-11am<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lee County School District wants to note that only one Chromebook is available per household.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kindergarten through 2<sup>nd<\/sup>&nbsp;grade students meeting the same criteria as 3<sup>rd<\/sup>&nbsp;through 5<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;grade students will be able to sign out Chromebooks next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Families can also choose not to use computer-based learning while schools are closed, 10-day packets of instructional material are also available at their child\u2019s school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first packet can be picked up during the same time frame as their assigned Chromebook distribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The schedule will be sent home through School Messenger and posted&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.leeschools.net\/parent_portal\/covid-19\">online here.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Lee County School District is preparing for online learning by distributing Chromebooks to those students in need.
