{"id":45958,"date":"2020-02-06T16:38:57","date_gmt":"2020-02-06T21:38:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?p=45958"},"modified":"2020-02-06T16:39:18","modified_gmt":"2020-02-06T21:39:18","slug":"car-burglar-arrested","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2020\/02\/car-burglar-arrested\/","title":{"rendered":"Car Burglar Arrested"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On February 6, 2020, the Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office East District Selective Enforcement Team conducted an operation in the area of Colin Avenue South and Meadow Road following a string of vehicle burglaries.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/ponds.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-45959\" width=\"262\" height=\"328\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/ponds.jpg 480w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/ponds-240x300.jpg 240w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 262px) 100vw, 262px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>While deputies were conducting the operation, the Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office Aviation Unit advised that they spotted a suspicious individual pulling on vehicle door handles in the area, attempting to burglarize the vehicles. Immediately, deputies established a perimeter and called for K9 unit back-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Working quickly and tactically, detectives, deputies and the K9 unit made contact with the suspect who attempted to flee the area. Shortly after, the suspect, later identified as Jeremy Ra\u2019Sheed Ponds (5\/4\/1996), was detained.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Detectives conducted an extensive investigation connecting Ponds to numerous conveyance burglaries over the last few days. Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office East District deputies and Criminal Investigations Division detectives executed a search warrant on Pond\u2019s residence, resulting in the recovery of several items to include three firearms.
