The Greater Lehigh Acres\nChamber of Commerce held its annual gala Saturday at the Plantation Golf &\nCountry Club in Fort Myers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The business organization\ninstalled its new officers and feted the best teachers, law enforcement,\nfirefighter and Chamber associate and member, as well as the extra special\nHeart of Lehigh Acres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As far as the awards, one\nteacher from each of Lehigh’s 11 schools was selected as a teacher of the year.\nThey were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– G. Weaver Hipps: Daisy Aceves<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Harns Marsh: Maria Lisa<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Lehigh Elementary: Brittany\nWinschell<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Mirror Lakes: Adrienne\nMcArthur<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Sunshine: Bonnie Bondurant<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Tortuga Preserve: Drew\nCoffman<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Veterans Park Academy for the\nArts: Iris Naranjo<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Lehigh Acres Middle: Alana\nSmith<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Varsity Lakes Middle: Michele\nShaw<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– East Lee High School: Kristin\nStevens-Hendrick<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Lehigh Senior High School:\nJessica McElroy<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alana Smith said she teaches\nall students and works wherever they need her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“After 12 years of\nteaching, I am thrilled, completely shocked and so amazed that people are giving\nme compliments and it feels so good to make s difference,” Smith said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chamber also recognized\nfirst responders and Chamber members. They were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Law Enforcement Officer:\nJoshua Roedding<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Firefighter: Byrne Gribbin<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Employee Performance: Jeffrey\nCopping<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Lehigh Acres Municipal\nServices Improvement District: Chad Hacke<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Chamber Associate: Marolyn\nWaline<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Chamber Member: Fred Elliott<\/p>\n\n\n\n
