<\/figure>\n\n\n\nAlthough the initiative to place a ballot initiative for the\n2020 election, it appears that there are individuals who continue to push to\nlegalize recreational pot use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2016 through a different ballot initiative, Florida\nresidents approved the idea of marijuana use for medical purposes. With the\ntrue and real reason behind the push for \u201cmedical\u201d use of pot (recreational\nuse), the ink wasn\u2019t even dry yet when the Governor signed the bill approving\nof the use of marijuana for medical purposes. Since the passage of Florida\nSenate Bill 1726, there has been a strong push by the politically-left in\nFlorida to legalize all marijuana use. In 2017 when CBD oil was finally\napproved for medical use, there was a simultaneous push in Tallahassee with our\nelected State representatives to also legalize marijuana for recreational\nuse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the unknowing, CBD oil (Cannabinol oil) comes from the\nhemp plant which is not marijuana but is a \u201ccousin\u201d of it. Hemp on average only\ncontains .08 percent THC, the active ingredient of the plant in which you\ncan get high. Hemp and marijuana are used for two totally different reasons.\nHemp is good for making paper and may have (no sound and scientific evidence)\nmedical benefits; marijuana\u2019s only \u201cworth\u201d is for getting high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Scientists and professionals tell us that the long-term\nconsequences for marijuana use may be unknown for several factors. One reason\nis because when marijuana smoking became much more popular in the 1960\u2019s and\n70\u2019s, the average THC percentage was only between two and five
\npercent. Today, average THC percentages are much higher–over 20 percent.
\nShort term issues (where it has been legalized) show permanent brain damage in
\nchildren who use marijuana, also higher incidents of vehicle accidents,\nincreased numbers of mental health diagnoses\/issues. Heavy use (smoking) of\nmarijuana as well shows links to cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
