In the time just before the American Revolution,\ncolonists in America were at times imprisoned for&nbsp;anything the King or his\nrepresentatives in America deemed inappropriate. Imprisonment for criticism for\neven the smallest criticism wasn&#8217;t unusual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/lead_720_405.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-45666\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/lead_720_405.jpg 720w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/lead_720_405-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After the American Revolution, the American Government\nrepresentatives in 1787 set about to establish an official constitution\nincluded with a bill of rights for every American. The Bill of Rights that we\nhave today is the same that our Founding Father\u2019s established which also\nincludes amendments that speak to our Natural Rights and one of those Natural\nRights is the guaranteed freedom of speech. We have the right to speak about,\nand to our Government representatives\/employees regarding how we feel including,\nbut limited too if their behavior, statements, wrongful actions, corruption,\nunlawfulness, and or any violations of public trust that they may be involved\nin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Holding our Government representatives and or employees\naccountable through informing them of wrong-doing on their part is exactly what\nour Founding Fathers had in mind when writing the freedom of speech portion of\nour First Amendment included in the Bill of Rights. The Founding Fathers\nestablished &#8220;a Government, for, and by the People&#8221; which guarantees\n\u201cWe the People\u201d a way to express free opinions of our Government without\nretaliation by agents or others employed in our Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many nations outside of America claim to hold to being\nrepresentatives of their people, but in reality, freedom of speech is rare and\ncriticism of the Government will land you in jail. Only in the United States\nwill you find the God-given Right of freedom of speech!
