{"id":45521,"date":"2019-12-17T22:16:43","date_gmt":"2019-12-18T03:16:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?p=45521"},"modified":"2019-12-17T22:17:05","modified_gmt":"2019-12-18T03:17:05","slug":"lee-commissioners-approve-2-3m-contract-to-improve-streets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2019\/12\/lee-commissioners-approve-2-3m-contract-to-improve-streets\/","title":{"rendered":"Lee Commissioners approve $2.3M contract to improve streets"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Lee Board of County Commissioners approved a $2.3\nmillion contract to make improvements to roads in Lehigh Acres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"267\" height=\"188\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/download.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-45522\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The contract would include resurfacing and other\nimprovements and is the first contract in a $5 million commitment for this\nbudget year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The contract, with Fort Myers-based Pavement Maintenance\nLLC, includes resurfacing, excavation, installing drainage culvert pipes,\nsodding, and striping for about 100 local roads, totaling 60 miles of roadway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lee County Department of Transportation maintains about\n1,500 miles of paved roads in Lehigh Acres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every year certain roads are ranked and selected for paving\nbased on resident requests, road conditions and the number of residences on the\nroad.
