This interactive and active time for toddlers and their caregiver is designed to advance prereading and social skills. Children attend this program independently while the caregiver waits nearby. Your preschooler will continue to build relationships with other kids, books, and the library in a storytime designed specifically for them. Each month will feature a different activity based on the aspects of STEAM &#8211; Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. This is a great opportunity for parents and kids to build, learn and play together. For grades K-5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>R.E.A.D. to Dogs<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>11 a.m.<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;Saturday, Dec. 14<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>R.E.A.D. companions are registered therapy animals who volunteer with their owner\/handlers as a team to help improve the literacy skills of children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Polar Express Reading<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6 p.m.<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;Monday, Dec. 16<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Families with children are invited to kick off Polar Express Week at East County Regional Library with a reading of \u201cThe Polar Express.\u201d Come in your pajamas and enjoy an hour of stories, songs and a craft related to \u201cThe Polar Express.\u201d Registration is suggested as space is be limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Polar Express Stuffed Animal Sleepover<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3 p.m.<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;Tuesday, Dec. 17<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children in grades K-5 are invited to join us for a Polar Express themed stuffed animal sleepover.
