Widespread cloudiness and showers extending from the\nsoutheastern<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bahamas northward over the southwestern Atlantic for a few<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>hundred miles are associated with a surface trough of low\npressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Limited development of this system is anticipated today or<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>tomorrow, however conditions are forecast to become a little more<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>favorable for development over the weekend, and a tropical<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>depression could form as the disturbance moves slowly toward the<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>west-northwest across the Florida Straits or South Florida and\nover<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>the eastern Gulf of Mexico.&nbsp;\nRegardless of development, this<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>disturbance could produce periods of locally heavy rainfall and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>gusty winds across the Bahamas through Thursday, and across\nFlorida<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>during the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>* Formation chance through 48 hours&#8230;low&#8230;20 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>* Formation chance through 5 days&#8230;medium&#8230;60 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. A broad low pressure system, associated with a tropical wave,\nis<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>located about 650 miles east of the Lesser Antilles.&nbsp; This<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>disturbance is accompanied by a large but disorganized area of<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>cloudiness and thunderstorms.&nbsp;\nThis system is forecast to move<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>westward toward unfavorable upper-level winds for tropical cyclone<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>formation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>* Formation chance through 48 hours&#8230;low&#8230;10 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>* Formation chance through 5 days&#8230;low&#8230;10 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. A tropical wave located between the west coast of Africa and\nthe<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cabo Verde Islands is forecast to move quickly westward during the<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>next several days.
