About the Speaker: Florida House of Representative\nSpencer Roach of District 79 is a retired Coast Guard JAG Officer who spent his\nfirst 10 years in service as an enlisted man, serving as a search and rescue\ncoxswain and counter-narcotics officer before earning an officer\u2019s commission.\nHe attended both Edison Community College and Florida Gulf Coast University\nwhile serving on active duty, earning a degree in Political Science and\ngraduating summa cum laude from FGCU. He is licensed to practice law in both\nFlorida and Texas. He retired from the Coast Guard in 2016 and returned to Lee\nCounty, where he has been a resident since his assignment to Coast Guard\nStation Ft Myers Beach in 2000. Spencer has always had a passion for public\nservice, and after retiring from the Coast Guard he served as the District\nDirector for Congressman Francis Rooney, who represents most of Lee and Collier\nCounties.  spencer.roach@myfloridahouse.org<\/a>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
