{"id":44192,"date":"2019-08-15T18:09:08","date_gmt":"2019-08-15T22:09:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?p=44192"},"modified":"2019-08-15T18:09:23","modified_gmt":"2019-08-15T22:09:23","slug":"usms-led-operation-triple-beam-results-in-120-arrests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2019\/08\/usms-led-operation-triple-beam-results-in-120-arrests\/","title":{"rendered":"USMS-led Operation Triple Beam results in 120 arrests"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Operation Triple Beam, a U.S. Marshals-led 90-day operation\nto reduce violent gang crime, concluded Aug. 1 and resulted in 120 arrests. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The operation was conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service\nFlorida\/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force, along with the Fort Myers\nPolice Department, Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Cape Coral Police Department\nand the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OTB was designed to target and arrest violent fugitives and\ncriminal offenders who committed high profile crimes such as homicide, felony\nassault and sexual assault, illegal possession of firearms, illegal drug\ndistribution, robbery and arson. Each local, state and federal agency employed\nenforcement techniques and statutory authority in order to disrupt the criminal\noperations of violent gangs and offenders in Fort Myers and surrounding areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the 120 arrests, law enforcement officers\nseized 45 firearms, more than $100,000 dollars in drugs &#8212; to include\nmarijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin &#8212; and more than $18,000 in\ncurrency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe success of Operation Triple Beam is directly attributed\nto the collaboration of Fort Myers and Cape Coral Police Departments, Lee\nCounty Sheriff\u2019s Office, along with the U.S. Marshals Service, ATF, the U.S.\nAttorney\u2019s Office and the State Attorney\u2019s Office, 20th Judicial Circuit all\nworking together as one team focusing on a common enemy: criminals and gang\nmembers who have plagued the greater Fort Myers area,\u201d said William B.
