By comparison, there were 548 cases last year and\n276 cases in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"701\" height=\"481\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Herp-a.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44083\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Herp-a.jpg 701w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Herp-a-300x206.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 701px) 100vw, 701px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Hepatitis A is caused by a virus that infects the liver and it\u2019s spread through the feces of those who are infected. It is often spread when infected people don\u2019t wash their hands after going to the bathroom since the feces can be transferred to food, drinks, and objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The illness\u2019 spread can be prevented through vaccination.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Florida officials have declared a public health emergency to help deal with a rise in Hepatitis A cases.
