Today, Florida\u2019s Southern Gulf Chapter of the American\nRed Cross responded to a duplex fire on Bristo Street in Lehigh Acres, Fla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lehigh Acres Fire crews responded to a fire at a home\nin Lehigh Acres on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fire officials said it started in the garage of a house on\nBristo Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The homeowners were home at the time the fire began,\nalthough firefighters initially said nobody was home. No injuries have been\nreported at this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five of Lehigh Acres fire trucks including a tanker\nresponded to the scene. The fire department has not said what the\ncause of the fire was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local Red Cross volunteers on a Disaster Action Team were on\nsite to help coordinate emergency aid to the affected family. Fire officials\nsay two adults and four children were impacted by the blaze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Red Cross provided comfort kits, direct client\nassistance and recovery planning to the family to meet their disaster-caused\nneeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nearly 180 times a day, the Red Cross helps a family\naffected by a home fire or other disaster. That\u2019s why the American Red Cross\nlaunched the nationwide Home Fire Campaign in 2014 which aims to reduce home\nfire deaths and injuries by 25 percent.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n
