{"id":43660,"date":"2019-07-03T11:35:35","date_gmt":"2019-07-03T15:35:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?p=43660"},"modified":"2019-07-03T11:35:46","modified_gmt":"2019-07-03T15:35:46","slug":"florida-ranked-third-most-dangerous-state-in-the-nation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2019\/07\/florida-ranked-third-most-dangerous-state-in-the-nation\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida ranked third most dangerous state in the nation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/d2e70e9yced57e.cloudfront.net\/wallethub\/embed\/4566\/geochart-safest-2019.html\" width=\"556\" height=\"347\" frameBorder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n<div style=\"width:556px;font-size:12px;color:#888;\">Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/wallethub.com\/edu\/safest-states-to-live-in\/4566\/\">WalletHub<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Florida was recently ranked near the bottom in a \u201cSafest\nStates in America\u201d report, and it wasn\u2019t because of our&nbsp;Category 5\nhurricanes,&nbsp;flesh-eating bacteria, or&nbsp;home-invading gators.<br>\n<br>\nAccording to a new report from WalletHub, a financial site that loves to rank\nstates on just about anything as long as they get that sweet link back (<a href=\"https:\/\/wallethub.com\/edu\/safest-states-to-live-in\/4566\/\">here\nya go, baby<\/a>), Florida is the 48th safest state in the country, or the third\nmost dangerous state, if you\u2019re a glass-half-empty type of person.<br>\n<br>\nThe study factored in things like personal and residential safety, financial\nsafety, road safety, workplace safety and emergency preparedness.\nWallethub&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/wallethub.com\/edu\/safest-states-to-live-in\/4566\/#methodology\">lists the full methodology<\/a>&nbsp;on their site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\nOverall, Florida ranked among the bottom in just about every category, however\nit was our terrifying roads and our even more terrifying drivers that really\ntanked our standing.<br>\n<br>\nAccording to WalletHub, Florida ranked as the 3rd worst state for \u201croad safety,\u201d\nand the second worst among states with a high uninsured population.<br>\n<br>\nThe only states that are more dangerous than Florida, according to the study,\nare Louisiana (49) and Mississippi (50).
