Intersection Markings: Intermittent lane closures and delays\nare possible on 6-27-19 through 7-3-19 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00\np.m. (weather permitting) on the following roadways: Bell Boulevard Milwaukee\nBoulevard <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gunnery Road and 8th Street SW – A contractor for Lee County\nDOT will have lane closures periodically at the intersection of Gunnery Road\nand 8th Street SW starting Monday, May 20th to August 1st from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.\nCrews will be working in the north and south bound thru lane of Gunnery Road\nand the eastbound\/westbound lanes of 8th Street SW from Gunnery Road to Floyd\nAve South. Gunnery Road to Gretchen Ave South will be closed to traffic until\nthe widening of 8th Street SW is complete. Motorists should use caution, as\nthere will be lane closures and flagmen working in the work zone. Lane closures\nfor this intersection will be ongoing from May 20th to August 1 st, 2019 of\nthis year. Homestead Road from south of Sunrise Boulevard to north of\nAlabama Road: Construction Project: This project consists of widening Homestead\nRoad to four lanes. This work will also improve drainage and install new\nunderground utilities. A six-foot sidewalk will be constructed on both sides of\nthe roadway. Motorists should expect lane closures during daytime hours.\nProject cost is $14.4 million. The contractor is Stevens and Layton, Inc. The\nproject is expected to be complete by early 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lehigh Acres Resurfacing Project: A Lee County DOT\ncontractor will be resurfacing the roads in the South East section of Lehigh\nAcres South of Leeland Heights\/Joel Boulevard and East of Homestead starting\nSunday, June 2, 2019 through October 2, 2019. Closure\/Detour – Lehigh\nAcres Municipal Service Improvement District (LA-MSID) will be replacing\nculvert pipes across Casey St E. in Lehigh Acres. \u00b7 Casey St E. will be closed\nbetween Haskell St E. & Geneva St E. beginning Tuesday June 11th, 2019.\nWarning signs will be posted. Additional work includes construction of a median separating\nthree 12-foot travel lanes in each direction, bike lanes, a 5-foot sidewalk on\nthe north side and a 10-foot shared-use path on the south side. The project\nwill also add a grass median and LED lighting throughout this segment. The\nexpected completion date is late fall 2020. The Contractor is Ajax Paving\nIndustries of Florida, LLC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SR 82 from Lee Boulevard\/Colonial Boulevard to Shawnee Road: \u202fConstruction\nproject: \u202f Crews are widening SR 82 to six lanes from east of Lee\nBoulevard to Shawnee Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         Motorists\nshould expect intermittent eastbound and westbound lane closures on\u202fSR 82\nduring nighttime\/overnight hours from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday\nthroughout the duration of the project, weather permitting.\u202f\u202f\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         Meadow\nRoad at Gunnery Road is PERMANENTLY closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7         A\ntemporary traffic signal has been installed at the intersection of Ray Avenue\nSouth and Griffin Drive. Motorists should use caution while driving in this\narea.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional work includes construction of a median separating\nthree 12-foot travel lanes in each direction, 6.5-foot inside paved shoulders,\nbike lanes, a 5-foot sidewalk on the north side and a 10-foot shared-use path\non the south side. The project will also add a grass median and LED lighting\nthroughout this segment. The project also includes constructing Florida\u2019s first\nContinuous Flow Intersection (CFI) at the intersection of SR 82 at Daniels\nParkway\/Gunnery Road. The CFI will ease traffic congestion at the intersection\nand include multiple signals to reduce turning delays. The expected completion\ndate is end of summer of 2019. The Contractor is Ajax Paving Industries of\nFlorida, LLC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SR 82 from Alabama Road to the Lee\/Hendry County\nline:\u202fConstruction project:\u202f Crews will be widening SR 82 to four lanes\nfrom Alabama Road to the Lee\/Hendry County line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SR 82\/Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from Rockfill Road to\nOrtiz Avenue:\u202f Construction project:\u202f\u202f Crews will be milling and\nresurfacing SR 82\/Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and constructing curb and\nshoulder during daytime and nighttime hours.
