Motorist should use caution, as there will be\nlane closures in the work zone from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Homestead Road from south of Sunrise Boulevard to north\nof Alabama Road:<\/strong> Construction Project: This project consists of widening\nHomestead Road to four lanes. This work will also improve drainage and install\nnew underground utilities. A six-foot sidewalk will be constructed on both\nsides of the roadway. Motorists should expect lane closures during daytime\nhours. Project cost is $14.4 million. The contractor is Stevens and Layton,\nInc. The project is expected to be complete by early 2020. \u00b7 Motorists should expect\ntraffic shifts on Leeland Heights at Homestead Road through Friday, June 28. \u00b7 Motorists should expect\ntraffic shifts on Sunrise Boulevard at Homestead Road through Friday, June 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lehigh Acres Resurfacing Project:<\/strong> A Lee County DOT\ncontractor will be resurfacing the roads in the South East section of Lehigh\nAcres South of Leeland Heights\/Joel Boulevard and East of Homestead starting\nSunday, June 2, 2019 through October 2, 2019. Motorists should use caution, as\nthere may be lane closures in the work zone from approximately 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lehigh Acres Municipal Service Improvement District\n(LA-MSID) Projects:<\/strong> Casey St E. Closure\/Detour &#8211; Lehigh Acres Municipal\nService Improvement District (LA-MSID) will be replacing culvert pipes across\nCasey St E. in Lehigh Acres. \u00b7\nCasey St E. will be closed between Haskell St E. &amp; Geneva St E. beginning\nTuesday June 11th, 2019. Warning signs will be posted. The Contractor is Ajax Paving\nIndustries of Florida, LLC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SR 82 from Lee Boulevard\/Colonial Boulevard to Shawnee\nRoad:<\/strong>&nbsp;\u202fConstruction project: \u202f Crews&nbsp;are&nbsp;widening SR 82 to\nsix lanes from east of Lee Boulevard to Shawnee Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Motorists should expect intermittent eastbound\nand westbound lane closures on\u202fSR 82 during nighttime\/overnight hours from 7\np.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday throughout the duration of the project,\nweather permitting.<\/strong>\u202f\u202f\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Meadow Road at Gunnery Road is PERMANENTLY\nclosed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>A temporary traffic signal has been installed at\nthe intersection of Ray Avenue South and Griffin Drive. Motorists should use\ncaution while driving in this area.<\/strong>\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional work includes construction of a median separating\nthree 12-foot travel lanes in each direction, 6.5-foot inside paved shoulders,\nbike lanes, a 5-foot sidewalk on the north side and a 10-foot shared-use path\non the south side. The project will also add a grass median and LED lighting\nthroughout this segment. The project also includes constructing Florida\u2019s first\nContinuous Flow Intersection (CFI) at the intersection of SR 82 at Daniels\nParkway\/Gunnery Road. The CFI will ease traffic congestion at the intersection\nand include multiple signals to reduce turning delays. The expected completion\ndate is end of summer of 2019.
